Wall thickness: checks before printing
Review thin regions, orientation and the purpose of the part together.
Check geometry, not just overall size
Identify the minimum wall thickness and transitions. Mark shells, clips, bridges and regions around holes. A large part can still have a very thin wall. Check these regions again after scaling.
Agree on operating conditions
A decorative enclosure and a loaded bracket need different requirements. Describe loads, temperature and force direction. Do not use one universal wall thickness for every material and process. Agree on the process and orientation first.
Inspect a trial part
For a new design, isolate a small test region or order a sample. Record the file revision, material and inspection result. If the wall changes after estimating, upload the new revision and recalculate.
