PLA, PETG, ABS and TPU: choosing a material
The purpose of the part matters more than a familiar plastic name.
Start with requirements
Record operating temperature, loads, required flexibility and appearance. PLA is often used for mock-ups; PETG for functional parts; ABS requires attention to printing conditions; TPU is flexible. Verify the properties of the specific grade and finished part separately.

This guide compares material families and does not promise every color or grade is in stock. Select an available calculator option or agree with the workshop. Food or skin contact and higher loads require separate requirements and suitability checks.
Record the selected option
Agree on material, color, orientation and any sample before paying. If material changes, review geometry and the estimate again. Manufacturer data helps compare materials but does not replace testing your part.
